In 1996, NuNet was founded as an Internet Service
Provider (ISP) in the Lehigh Valley by John and Jacqueline Keown. The
Keowns had a simple business vision – become the region’s prominent
provider of Internet access by providing excellent customer service
combined with the latest technology.
Despite intense competition with a dozen other ISPs
(several of whom had been in business much longer), NuNet successfully
captured a significant percentage of local customers. NuNet continued
its expansion plans and, within two years, acquired two more small
ISPs. Bolstered by their continued success, NuNet officials began to
pursue additional acquisitions, staying true to an aggressive
marketing plan designed to further develop and expand the company’s
customer base and service offerings.
